If you've already tried group classes and not seen the change you were hoping for, that's not a failure - some problems just need more individual attention than a group setting can give. Whatever's going on, you're not alone - and it's not a reflection of you as an owner.
These are exactly the kinds of things Jo works with every day - and every single one of them can be improved.
Her one-to-one programs are built entirely around your dog, your situation and your goals.
Every program is tailored to you and your dog - but here's what's included as standard:
Sessions can be held at your home, a local park or the FurryTails Training Centre in Easingwold. Jo covers Stillington, Sutton-on-the-Forest, Strensall, Wigginton, Alne, Tollerton, Thirsk, Boroughbridge, Huby, Haxby and more. Not sure if you're in range? Just get in touch.

"Jo has worked with our 5-year-old cocker spaniel, Monty. He was extremely anxious and afraid of the wind, loud noises and bikes. It got to a point that we were so upset at how distressing it was to see him pacing and panting and scared and we couldn’t do any to help him. Jo has been amazing teaching us how to help Monty. She gave us lots of advice and activities to help as well as distraction techniques covering all bases. we can not thank Jo enough for all her help , knowledge and support. we feel we are well on the way to having a much happier dog we would definitely recommend Jo to anyone."
I've been working with dogs for over 15 years and the thing that drives everything I do is pretty simple - I want dogs to feel safe and understood, and I want their owners to feel the same way.
I'm not interested in sending you away after one session to figure it out on your own. Behaviour doesn't fit into a neat before-and-after box. It takes time, patience and someone who's actually paying attention to your dog as an individual - not just the problem in front of them.
Everything I do is positive and reward-based. Not because it's the trendy approach, but because it works - and because it's kinder. My cocker spaniel River reminds me of that every single day.
I'm IMDT qualified and currently working towards my Level 6 Diploma in Clinical Canine Behaviour with the Canine Behaviour College. I'm also recommended by local vets and work closely with them when needed to make sure your dog gets the best joined-up support.
Every month, we have carefully run On and Off Lead social training sessions. They provide a safe space for your dog to socialise with other dogs and to connect with other responsible dog owners while continuing your training under expert guidance. It's a great opportunity to maintain all the hard work you've put into your 1-1 training.
Every month, we run carefully managed reactivity and excitability sessions, designed specifically for dogs who have completed a FurryTails one-to-one programme. They provide a safe, controlled environment to keep building on the progress you've already made - with expert guidance and the support of other owners who get it.
Looking for something fun to do with your dog on an ongoing basis? FurryTails runs regular Gundog, Scentwork and Rally classes - a great way to keep building on your training while giving your dog a proper outlet for their energy and instincts.
Every dog is different, so there's no one-size-fits-all answer. Some owners notice a difference after just one session. For others it takes longer - and that's completely normal. Jo will give you a realistic picture of what to expect from the start.
Not always, but for some behavioural issues Jo may recommend a vet check before or alongside your sessions. She'll let you know if that's the case.
Yes - additional sessions are available at £70 per hour for In-Depth clients and £80 per hour for Starter clients.
