Jo is a qualified, reward-based dog trainer through the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers). She also holds OCN Level 3 accreditations in Learning, Motivation & Reinforcement, and in the Principles of Dog Training & Behaviour.
ESTABLISHED 2011
FurryTails has evolved over the years, from dog walking and pet services to day care and home boarding. This journey has taught me so much invaluable information about puppies and dogs, which led me to wanting to become a dog trainer and I am proud to say that I am now an accredited, qualified dog trainer through the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers).
ALWAYS LEARNING
I am so passionate about learning about the most up to date, science based training and behaviour in order that I can pass this knowledge on to you and your dog, giving you the best experience you can have with your best friend.
Please see my qualifications and completed courses as listed in the qualifications tab.
Abby is part of the FurryTails team, running our Puppy Classes and Rally Sessions with a calm, thoughtful approach and a real passion for helping dogs and their people grow together.
She holds her IMDT Level 3 in Learning, Motivation & Reinforcement, is Canine First Aid trained, and continues to build her skills through hands-on experience and ongoing study.
Abby shares her life with two gorgeous retrievers — Figgy, a 2-year-old working Golden, and Nettie, her 5-month-old Flatcoat pup. They both love gundog training and Rally!
Her training style is holistic — taking into account each dog’s behaviour, physical health, breed traits, diet, and emotional wellbeing to help them truly thrive.
When she’s not teaching, you’ll find Abby exploring the countryside with Figgy and Nettie, or deep into more dog learning — always with treats in her pocket and a smile on her face.
Christine is a valued part of the FurryTails team, supporting our Reactivity Training & Behavioural Sessions, On & Off Lead Social Sessions, and teaching Rally.
She’s passionate about how dogs think, communicate, and what they need to thrive in our busy world.
Christine shares her life with Maple, her 4-year-old Cockerpoo who loves scentwork and learning tricks. Maple’s own journey with anxiety has shaped Christine’s thoughtful, confidence-building approach to training.
She holds a Level 3 Diploma in Canine Care, Behaviour & Welfare (OfQual), is a graduate of the Pro Dog Trainer course, and is working towards IMDT accreditation. Christine has also completed Canine First Aid and the IMDT Dog Walkers’ course.
She also runs her own licensed dog-walking and home-boarding business (Licence no. ANBRD-129989-E, North Yorkshire Council) — many of our dogs know her from walks and daycare too.
Outside of FurryTails, Christine works part-time in the NHS as a physio and healthcare researcher. She loves gardening, reading, and countryside walks with Maple and dog-loving friends.
